Federal Executive Boards

If I had a dime for the number of times I have heard “if you are not in the Washington, D.C. area there is no federal contracting opportunities,” I would be a rich man.  The truth of the matter is that only 15% of all federal employees reside in the greater DC Area.  In fact certain cities and states have such high concentrations of Federal Employees that Federal Executive Boards were established to help manage the Federal operations in these areas.  A link to the Federal Executive Boards website click here:  http://www.feb.gov/

I have put together a the list of cities and states along with a corresponding map that shows where these boards are located.

Cities – Red Circles

Atlanta, GA Cleveland, OH New Orleans, LA San Francisco, CA
Baltimore, MD Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX New York City, NY St. Louis, MO
Boston, MA Detroit, MI Newark, NJ Seattle, WA
Buffalo, NY Honolulu, HI Philadelphia, PA
Chicago, IL Kansas City, MO Pittsburg, PA
Cincinnati, OH Los Angeles, CA San Antonio, TX

States – Orange Outline

Colorado Minnesota Oklahoma
Florida (South) New Mexico Oregon

 Federal Executive Boards

The takeaway is If your business is located near one of these Federal Executive Board cities or states there may be excellent federal contracting opportunities available for you close to home!

A GSA Schedule is your first step in entering the federal marketplace.  If you would like for me to run the numbers for your firm to see what type of impact a GSA Schedule could provide your business, give me a call and I am always happy to do this.  Knowing the size of the federal marketplace in your industry is the first step in making a strategic decision as to whether you should view the federal government as a growth area for your business.  Please feel free to give me a call at 303-810-4580.
